The DRC is focusing on healthy, mentally stable, typical hunting dogs according to the breed‘s standard. Therefore a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever has to pass several health and working tests, before the dog is approved for breeding. These are for example hips– and elbow-tests, a mental description, a companion-, hunting– or working dog test and finally his exterior is checked according to the breed‘s standard. Due to this high aspiration level puppy buyers have to wait a couple of month‘s before they can pick their puppy. The breeding dogs are living in private households as hunting and family dogs. For the Tollers it is extremely important, that they get socialized in an excellent way and become members of the family. A careful raising of the puppies is a basic for a trustful companion. Every litter is checked and approved by an official of the club. A responsible breeder will accompany you during the upbringing and education phase of your dog. Use the waiting time to find the right breeder, who will give you all the information and advices you need. You can inform yourself about breeding plans on the official puppy information site of the German Retriever Club (DRC) |
